STK500 Debug Session Error unter VM Ware Fusion

Hallo Mikrocontroller-Community,

mein STK500 weigert sich -in meiner VM Ware Fusion (Mac OS)-, 
kompilierten C Quellcode im AVR Studio auf einen ATMega8 zu überspielen.

Unter meiner (nativen) Windows Partition läuft die Operation mit 
identischer Verkabelung ohne Probleme ab.


Die Fehlermeldung lautet:

Hat vielleicht jmd eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte? Ansprechen kann 
ich das STK500 über Tools->AVR Programming. Verbunden habe ich das Board 
mit einem USB to RS232 Adapter...
