Die letzte Sünde ist schon lange her. Und wenn nicht, dann würde ich nicht hier davon schreiben...:-) Der Effekt tritt seit dem letztem Update auf. Das ist einige Tage her. Was soll der Treiber denn öffnen? Gruss Robert
Kann man das Update rückgängig machen? Wäre vielleicht auch eine Option.
Was sagt denn "lpinfo -v" ? Welcher Drucker, welche Schnittstelle und welche Version vom OS und CUPS oder wird was anderes verwendet ?
Verwendeter Drucker: Samsung CLX 3305 W Betrieb per Netz, IP ist 192.168.2.60 im Lokalnetz Suse 12.3 CUPS 1.5.4 Gruss Robert
Ohne alle Bösartigkeiten des 12.3 jetzt zu kennen, würde ich den Drucker evtl. nochmals installieren. Sonst Goto http://www.opensuse-lernen.de/
Die Druckerdeinstallation und die anschliessende Installation wurden vorgenommen. Es tritt der gleiche Fehler auf.

Ich kann den Drucker per ping sehen. Er hat ja auch vorher funktioniert, der Fehler tritt erst nach dem Update auf.

schau nach, welcher Dienst sich Port 631 geschnappt hat.
CUPS beschwert sich doch beim Start, dass er sich nicht an diesen Port
binden kann.

Du zeigst mit obigem netstat alle verwendeten Ports an die den Zustand LISTEN haben, da dort der cupsd angezeigt wird scheint der OK zu sein. Zeigt den YAST irgend eine Fehlermeldung oder kannst Du damit den Drucker Testseiten drucken lassen ? Was für ein Update war denn das ? Frag halt mal da nach BUGS o.ä.: http://de.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Browse#Community
Installiert wurden nur die Updates, die durch den autoupdater gemeldet wurden. Yast zeigt keine Fehlermeldungen an. Ich kann keine testseiten drucken, denn beim Drucken schreibt er in CUPS, dass er das file nicht öffnen kann (Meldung wie oben). Der test landet aber in den Aufträgen. Ich selbst bin ziemlich ratlos, ich habe keine Ahnung, wie das Drucken eigentlich funktioniert. Grüsse Robert

Der Drucker heisst samsung. Weitere Drucker gibt es nicht im Netz.
Check mal die Rechte für den Ordner '/var/spool/cups' Unter Debian hat die Gruppe 'lp' und der Benutzer 'root' Schreib- und Leserechte darauf. Untersuche den Inhalt des Verzeichnisses. Sind da aktuelle Daten drin? Ich weiss nicht, wie Suse CUPS einrichtet und als welcher Benutzer es Dateien schreibt, aber evtl. hat sich da was geändert und CUPS darf in spool nicht mehr reinschreiben. Die Gruppe lpadmin hat als benutzer bei mir 'root' und die Benutzer, die auch administrieren dürfen. Browse mal nach http://localhost:631 ,wie oben auch erwähnt, eigentlich solltest du da auf die CUPS Verwaltung kommen. Ein Klick auf 'Administration' sollte dann nach den Verwalternamen (einer aus lpadmin) und seinem Passwort fragen. Socket 9100 ist m.E. HP-spezifisch (Jetdirect) und muss bei Samsung nicht unbedingt funktionieren.

habe ich bereits gemacht, ich lande dann aim cups. Welche Information brauchst du von dort aus?
Administration -> Drucker verwalten -> Samsung auswählen. Dann mal den Status angucken und evtl. mal den Drucker starten aus dem Pop-Up Menü. Die Fehlermeldung im Drucker Status ist evtl. hilreich. Du kannst auch mal nach Druckern suchen (Drucker hinzufügen->Verfügbare Drucker) und schauen, ob der Samsung auftaucht. Wenn ich es richtig verstanden habe, ist das ein Drucker mit eigenem Ethernet und nicht per USB oder so angeschlossen, richtig?
Im Verwaltung->verfügbare Drucker listen findet er nix. Unter Drucker ist der samsung eingetragen. Die Druckaufträge sind alle noch da.Der erste (=aktuelle) Auftrag ist kommentiert mit " verarbeitet seit Mi 18 Sep 2013 18:02:36 CEST "Unable to open print file: No such file or directory" die anderen sind unerledigt. Meine ID wird übrigens nicht abgefragt, ich nutze das also als user. Einiges ist als user nicht möglich.

Es wird Zeit, dir mal /etc/cups/cupsd.conf anzuschauen und mit dem Backup zu vergleichen, das der Suse Update hoffentlich angelegt hat. Da drin wird festgelegt, wer auf was zugreifen darf (Druckaufträge und Verwaltung). Schlimmstenfalls benennst du die vorhandene cupsd.conf um und verwendest wieder dein altes Original. Eine Suche nach cupsd.conmf ergab: cupsd.conf cupsd.conf.5.gz cupsd.conf.default und keine als backup erkennbare Dateien. Die Änderungen werde ich gleich mal vornehmen. Ich melde mich wieder.

Nach dem Ausdrucken zeigt cups das, was ich angehängt habe. Gedruckt
wird nicht. :-(
Hallo, laut Screenshot hast du den Treiber für den CLP350 genommen. Wird der irgendwo für den Drucker empfohlen? Es gibt von Samsung extra einen für deinen Drucker (CLX-3300 Series). Hast du den schon mal probiert? Dein Druckertreiber ist auf Letter eingestellt, ich gehe mal davon aus, das du standardmäßig A4 druckst. Es gibt Drucker die drucken das Dokument nicht, wenn das Papierformat nicht stimmt. Ausser man hat es in den Einstellungen so eingestellt das er das dann trotzdem machen soll. Ich würde den Drucker deinstallieren und nochmal komplett neu installieren, mit dem richtigen Treiber und zwar mit dem Cups eigenen Installationsmechanismus und nicht über das Interface von openSUSE-YaST. Tröste Dich, Du bist nicht der Erste, der sein System tot-gepatcht hat. Man lernt daraus ein Backup zu haben.

Ich habe den Drucker entfernt und per samsung neu installiert. Die Cupsd
habe ich geändert (ich habe vorhin die gesicherte Version versendet-->
krass falsch).

Momentan weiss ich nicht, wie das Gruppenmanagement vorgenommen wird.
Änderungen an Gruppen kann ich daher nicht vornehmen.

Bei SuSE ist AFAIK 127.0.0.2 zusätzlich zur 127.0.0.1 als localhost in der /etc/hosts eingetragen. Und das ist eigentlich abgesehen von dem Namen auch egal, da alles aus dem IP-Bereich 127.0.0.0/8 als Loopback im RFC steht. Ein Ping auf diesen Bereich wird (sollte) immer vom eigenen Rechner beantwortet werden. Also vom localhost :-) Kannst du testen in dem du auf einem Rechner mit Cupsserver mal 127.127.127.127:631 als URL eingibst. Sollte dasselbe sein wie 127.0.0.1:631 Grüße, Micha

Da es für die cupsd.conf (zumindest unter Debian CLI) kein vernünftiges Tool gibt, gehe ich übrigens diese Datei immer händisch durch. Ich befürchte fast, das du das auch mal tun musst. Der user 'anonymous' muss also Rechte auf die Jobs bekommen. Evtl. darf dieser eben eine print datei nicht anlegen, weil er z.B. nicht in der gGruppe 'lp' drin ist. Über Benutzer und Gruppen unter Suse wissen andere mit Sicherheit mehr. Meine Linux Box wird mit webmin verwaltet, deswegen kann ich da nix sagen.

So, nachdem ich mich gestern beim Konfigurieren vertan habe und dann cder xserver den Dienst quittiert habe, habe ich kubuntu installiert. Es sieht alles ganz nett aus. Drucken tut es leider immer noch nicht. Für Hinweise dankbar... Robert

Ketzerische Frage: Was macht dich sicher, daß der Drucker selbst i.O. ist? Hast du einen Gegentest mit einem anderen System vorgenommen, z.B. einem Windows-PC oder Mac oder sonstwas?
ping <adresse> reagiert einwandfrei, er lebt also. Kann man per piping irgendwas dahin senden und dann einen Ausdruck erwarten?

Irgendwas bestimmt nicht, der Drucker erwartet schon eine korrekte Initialiserungssequenz, außer er beherrscht ESC/P2 o.ä.

Das sind keine doppelten Einträge. Schau dir die cupsd.conf nochmal an! Aber es mal allen zum Test zu erlauben, kann ja nicht schaden :-) Schließt zumndest eine Fehlerquelle aus. Grüße, Micha

Meine Vorgehensweise beim einrichten von Druckern ist folgende und die hat bisher immer funktioniert. Beim Hersteller das für den Drucker passende .ppd besorgen. Das ist bei dir möglich, da Samsung das für Linux anbietet. Der passende Treiber steckt in dem Paket welches du von der Samsungseite laden kannst. Das entpackte Verzeichnis nennt sich bei mir dann "uld". da drinn dann unter noarch/share/ppd gibt es ein ppd mit dem Namen Samsung_CLX-3300_Series.ppd. Das ist alles was du brauchst damit der Drucker druckt. Für die anderen Funktionen des Druckers mag es noch weitere Treiber benötigen, da kenn ich mich aber nicht mit aus. Dann richte ich meine Drucker immer! über das Browsergestuetzte Interface von Cups ein. localhost:631 Administration (Verwaltung, wenn deutsch) Add printer (Drucker hinzufuegen) und dann ausfüllen was gefragt wird. Als Protokoll ipp. Es kann aber auch sein, dass der Drucker schon gefunden wurde. Dann sollte er da schon als Samsung XYZ mit seiner IP-Adresse auftauchen. Dann kannst Du auch den nehmen. Jetzt fragt er nach dem Treiber für den Drucker. Hier dann selbst das vom Hersteller geladene PPD nehmen. Als letzten Schritt, Add printer und das war es dann schon fast. Wie gesagt musst du dann sehr wahrscheinlich die Einstellungen noch anpassen. A4, Duplex ja/nein ... da es sein kann, das er mit falschen Einstellungen garnicht oder seltsam druckt. Ich habe das gerade mal mit einem Samsung CLP-325W durchgespielt und der druckt jetzt. Grüße, Micha

ich habe ehrlich keine Ahnung, warum der Drucker es nicht getan hat, und auch keine, warum er es jetzt tut. Aber solange er läuft...
